Strengthening
Connections
and Providing Care
We are committed to reducing loneliness, fostering confidence, and creating a more connected, compassionate community across Rochdale and Calderdale.

Our Projects
Acre Community Network is transforming lives across Rochdale and Calderdale.
From delivering essential household and continence supplies to offering companionship and wellbeing support, our projects are designed to meet the real needs of our community.

Vera's Visit -
Redusing Loneliness Across
Rochdale and Calderdale
We are proud to lead Vera’s Visits, a major two-year project funded through a £19,600 National Lottery Community Fund grant.
Inspired by the kindness and warmth of Vera, whose spirit shaped the idea, this project provides friendly visits, wellbeing checks, social connection, and practical support to older people experiencing loneliness or isolation.
The grant allows us to expand our reach, recruit volunteers, and deliver more regular, high-quality support to individuals who may otherwise go unnoticed or unsupported.

Essential House Items Support
We receive donated household goods — such as bedding, small appliances, kitchen items, and cleaning supplies — and redistribute them to individuals and families who need them urgently. This simple support makes a significant difference for people starting over, moving into new accommodation, or recovering from hardship.

Continence Product
Collection and
Donation Scheme
Our continence initiative ensures that people who struggle to afford essential continence products can receive them discreetly and free of charge. This service reduces embarrassment, restores dignity, and helps families avoid crisis situations.
We always welcome donations of unused continence products of all makes and sizes. Where someone has passed away there are often continence products that are disposed of. We will collect any significant quantities available and all donations can be dropped off during office hours at our community base.
